Drunk referee officiating the Belarus league

Referee Sergei Shmolik was helped off the pitch "with back pain" while officiating a Belarus soccer league game. The referee hardly moved the last 20 minutes of the match, officiating only from the central circle.

He was later taken to a hospital for a test, which surprisingly showed high levels of alcohol in his system!

The teams´ coaches didn´t complain about Shmolik since he didn´t interfere with the match, not giving one yellow card or awarding any penalties. That confirms the theory that sports would be much more fun without referees. Well, at least if they don´t drink.

BTW the match ended in a 1-1 tie. The teams?... Vitebsk and Naftan!
